Wow! Terrific piece. Never thought about this. This is why good journalism is so important. Kudos, Jeff. I’m a little smarter after this article.

Competition is healthy for everyone. I think everyone will benefit from this new venue. The suburb venues do not support any of this kind of music and are still in classic rock mode. A little bit of advertisement in the suburb area on what's going on would bring the masses for this style of music. Many are simply not aware many of these places exist and don't know what they're missing. Good luck to all!

Yes, there is substancial worry. We don't want our other live venues cut short because of the monster in the room. There should be ample room for everybody but we have a corporation owning indie clubs that has more money to invest than our local club owners and promoters do such as The Rec Room, Mohawk Place, Babesville, Ironworks and The Town Balroom. It sounds good but looks worse, indie clubs are not associated with corporations, it's bad enough what corporate media has done to radio. Buffalo has always been independent and we pride ourselves in our local artists and their livelihoods. The ones who have been doing it all along for years. My allegence is with independentally owned and operated clubs.
